It was a confluence of music, shlokas, self-assessment exercises, knowledge inputs and the rest. The objective? To create a vision for 2003, through goal setting and mind programming.
And judging by the confidence generated from the 100 odd participants at the five hour workshop it sure helped. Says Rajaram Iyer, facilitator, and the founder of SEVA (Self Education Value Addition) which has been organising this workshop since the last five years, “I act as a trigger.
The mind in itself is fertile. The purpose is to plough the mind, cleanse it and programme it according to the goal.
If the success rate is to be assessed, Iyer has made a mark. Not without reason. This mechanic engineer relinquished his goal job as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mercerbaker Engineering to pursue study of Vedanta under a Swamiji at Chennai, learnt the powerful process of Antaranga Yoga and mediation and has undertaken extensive research in field of occupational stress.
In this workshop, he used the technique of imagery and soulful music to achieve an alpha state i.e. a balance of the left (rational) side of the brain and the right (creative) brain.
This was interspersed with an urge to convert doubt to confidence, fear to love and to throw away stress by expressing it on a page and tearing it up with fervour.
Says Bal Mukund Shah, Reiki grandmaster, who attended Iyer’s workshop, “His ability to translate theory into action is amazing. He has triggered the process of opening our mind.
